Most of the herbicides used on lawns are harmful for wildlife. Dandelions and other plants sprayed with pesticides are harmful if ingested. Thirty million acres of the United States are lawns, and an estimated 80 million pounds of pesticides are used on them annually. When purchasing any products made with dandelion it is recommended to buy organic only. If you are going to consume fresh dandelions from your yard, be sure that harmful pesticides have not been used. There are many natural herbacides available that do not use harmful chemicals.
