Inside the stem of the dandelion a milky liquid is produced which containts latex, a substance that is similar to rubber. Scientists have created new species of dandelion which are made to produces higher quality latex in greater amount. This type of dandelion latex has potential to replace rubber in the production of tires in the near future.
